On September 1st, Michael and Deb traveled together to the "Catholic Colony" of Prince Gallitzin. He gave up a life of ease to be a frontier priest at a time when there were only a handful of clergy but hundreds of Catholics in Pennsylvania. He founded the Basilica of St. Michael's. We prayed there before the Madonna, visited his tomb, stopped by the Carmel of St. Therese (closed), and then went on to the Franciscan Gardens. These were once the formal gardens for the mansion of Charles Schwab, but now they are used for relaxation and prayer...or in our case, proposals, as Michael got down on one knee and proposed! Even more amazing, he sent up a drone that took video from above of the proposal...and my saying yes!
