Dante and Deidre have been together for eight years. They met as freshmen at Bentley University in Massachusetts, and started dating that summer. Unfortunately for them, Deidre transferred to Hofstra University on Long Island halfway through sophomore year, which led to them making the decision to try long distance. They spent the next few years traveling back and forth between Long Island and Massachusetts, supporting each other from afar through normal college things like finals, searching for internships, and applying for jobs. This support continued as they entered the “adult” world, and leaned on each other during personal and professional struggles. As they would tearfully say goodbye in the train station after a weekend together, what kept them going was the promise of the next visit, as well as the goal of living in the same state someday soon. 
In August 2020, after five long years of late night FaceTime calls and monthly visits, Deidre finally made the move to Massachusetts. She and Dante were so excited to finally date like a normal couple and only have to wait a few days to see each other, rather than a few weeks. Dante moved in with her in the summer of 2021. When they had dinner together the first night in their apartment, it was the best feeling knowing they finally didn’t have to say goodbye. 
On August 18, 2022, at the Francis Ford Coppola winery in California, just before sunset, Dante got down on one knee and asked Deidre to marry him. They are on cloud nine with excitement as they start this next chapter together, and can’t wait to celebrate with their family and friends!
