Stanton and Delaney's love story began about 5 years ago at a local favorite restaurant of theirs called, The Handle Bar. Over a good meal on a Monday evening after work, the two went on their first date. They got to know one another over a few hours until the restaurant was closing down. Over the next few months, they spent a lot of their free time taking Rupert (the dog) out for walks, going on hikes, and adventuring in the old red Toyota Tacoma. Their favorite adventure early on, was when they went up to a hidden swimming hole up off Hwy 70 on Labor Day weekend. It was beautiful, and they spent the night under the stars, camping in the back of the pickup. Once 2020 came around and the world began to shut down, Delaney and Stanton decided it would be best to move in together into his little 2-bedroom house where they live together today. The house has a big yard and was perfect for when Delaney was unable to go to work in Spring of that year. She planted and grew her first garden, mammoth sunflowers, and played her guitar for Rupert. Their lives meshed well together, and they learned they make a great team. They constantly continued to push one another to reach their goals. Stanton ran his first marathon race in December of 2021 while also progressing in his job, and Delaney decided to go back to college around that time to become a registered nurse, after falling in love with the medical field. The two enjoy working out and attending hot yoga together, going on hikes, camping trips, and love to visit family and friends often with trips to Santa Cruz, Idaho, and Arizona. They do almost all of these things while taking Rupert along for the ride. They found a new little addition one hot Summer day, in July of '23. Miley, the Corgi mix, became their second baby. When Delaney finally finished her RN program prerequisites in December last year, they knew this year was going to be a good one. Stanton proposed on March 2nd, 2024 overlooking the beautiful ocean in Santa Cruz. She said yes of course! Four weeks later came the biggest surprise yet! The newly engaged couple learned that they were expecting their first baby!!!! The date of the wedding was moved up to this September with the due date being in mid-December.
