We recommend bringing both a converter and an adapter for your trip. What’s the difference? Ireland is 6 hours ahead of Minnesota, so we recommend arriving a day or two early to adjust. Try to stay awake as late as possible upon arrival to help with jet lag. Flights usually land in the morning, and you’ll likely be tired, so driving—especially long distances—on the first day can be challenging.

Visitors from the US can claim VAT refunds on eligible purchases in Ireland by shopping at stores displaying the "Tax-Free Shopping" sign. Use a tax refund document or the Horizon Tax-Free card to log purchases, then claim your refund at customs on departure or at FEXCO desks in Dublin or Shannon airports. Save your receipts!
