When is the RSVP deadline?
Our goal is to collect all RSVP's by August 1st, 2023. We kindly ask that you let us know if you will be attending by clicking on the 'RSVP' tab at the top right corner of this site.
Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?
The ceremony and reception are both taking place on the property of Overlook Barn. Weather permitting, our ceremony will be outside on a field overlooking the mountains and valley below. The reception will follow, taking place inside the barn.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
The dress code for this event is Formal, so dress to impress! Our ceremony will be taking place on a grassy field, so please keep this in mind when choosing your footwear.
What will the weather be like?
The average temperature in Banner Elk on October 1st rests at a high of 71 degrees with a low of 50 degrees. Currently it is expected to be partly cloudy, with a low chance of precipitation. Please keep in mind, we will be at a higher elevation where there will likely be some wind. Have you reserved hotel room blocks?
Yes! We have reserved a room block at The Best Western Hotel in Banner Elk, located just minutes from our wedding venue. More information can be found on the Travel tab at the top of this website.
How do I get to the venue? What is the parking situation?
The address of Overlook is 830 Elderberry Ridge Road Banner Elk, NC 28604 - located on Beech Mountain. Parking on the property will be readily available for our guests. Its important to us that you get home safely after our celebration! So, you are welcome to leave your vehicle on the property overnight, as long as it is retrieved by 10am the following morning.
What is the timeline for the day?
The earliest guest arrival time will be 4:00pm. We plan to have a brief ceremony at 4:30pm. Following the ceremony will be a cocktail hour and reception with dinner and dancing! The exit will take place around 10:00pm.
What type of food will be served at your wedding?
We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a buffet style dinner with a wide selection of cuisine to choose from, including gluten free / vegan options.
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration as our venue is unsuitable for young children. We hope this advanced notice will allow you a much-deserved night off to celebrate with us!
Can I bring a plus one?
Unfortunately, we are at capacity, which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. However, we do look forward to celebrating with you on the day!
Where are you registered?
Your presence at our wedding is present enough! However, for friends and family who have expressed an interest, we’ve created an online registry which can be found through the Registry tab at the top of this website.
Can I take pictures / share to social media?
You are encouraged to take as many photos / videos as you would like (and we would love for you to share them with us)! However, we will have a professional photographer to help document the day so we kindly ask that you do not take pictures / videos during the ceremony.
