Dress Code: Beach Resort Attire

The dress code for our wedding is beach resort attire. Since this is not the most common dress code, we thought it might be helpful to add some guidance!

Beach resort attire is casual, beachy, and festive! Bright colors and fun patterns are encouraged, as well as lightweight fabrics. Maxi dresses, sundresses, short-sleeve button down shirts, loose/lightweight pants, nicer shorts, Hawaiian shirts, and jumpsuits are all on the table!

It will be a warm summer day (probably 60s-70s in the morning, 80s in the afternoon) and the wedding and reception will be outdoors, so please dress comfortably for the weather.

What about swimsuits?

Since the reception is a pool party, you might be wondering what to do about a swimsuit. We ask that guests not show up to the ceremony in just a swimsuit, but if you would like to wear your swimsuit under your beach resort outfit that's totally fine! There will also be plenty of time to change into swimsuits after the ceremony, and a designated location for guests to store their purses, clothes, etc.

I'm sorry, I'm still confused!

If you're a visual learner, here are some examples of great beach resort outfits that would be perfect for the occasion! Click on any photo to see the full-size image.

...and here are a couple what-not-to-wears! You'll probably want to avoid anything too dressy (like a full suit or ballgown), anything too casual (like denim), and anything too warm (like flannel).
