What date to RSVP by?

Please RSVP when able, no later than August 18th, 2025.

Will there be an open bar?

Absolutely!! Beer, wine, liquor all included. Please remember to bring your ID for the start of the night. Our venue, being an educational campus, must be extra diligent in this space. We thank you for your understanding.

What should I wear?

The attire is formal. There is no color code or specific dress code.

Where can I find the wedding registry?

Derek and Nicole are registered at Crate & Barrel as well as Amazon. You can view our registry by visiting the registry page of this website.

Where should we bring / send our wedding gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to Derek Piglowski & Nicole Wittman, 1702 N Setterbo Rd, Suttons Bay, MI, 49682. A wedding card box will be at our reception.

Where is the ceremony and the reception?

The ceremony will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Suttons Bay, MI from 1pm-2pm. The reception will take place at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City, MI from 4pm - 10:30pm. Please see the home page for addresses.

What time does the ceremony & reception start?

Ceremony begins at 1pm and the reception to follow begins at 4pm with a cocktail hour.

What time should we arrive at your wedding ceremony?

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Doors will open for seating 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Parking will be available within the church parking lot and surrounding street parking.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be held indoors. The reception will be held indoors with an outside patio area as well, weather permitting.

Where should I sit for the ceremony? The reception?

For the ceremony, when you enter the church simply tell the ushers “bride” or “groom” and they will seat you accordingly. For the reception, when you enter the venue you will see a display with flowers that includes the seating chart. Find your name with a table assignment and head to the corresponding table. There are no specific seat assignments within each table.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Yes, there will be a short gap between the ceremony and the reception. The ceremony at St. Michaels will conclude around 2pm and cocktail hour will kick off our reception at the Hagerty Center at 4pm. We highly recommend taking a drive and enjoying the beautiful fall color before heading to the reception!

Will there be a shuttle from the ceremony to the reception and/or the reception to hotels?

If you are not in the wedding party, there is no shuttle from the ceremony to the reception. The drive is conservatively around 20-25 minutes. If you are staying at a hotel close to the reception venue of the Hagerty Center and you are interested in a hotel shuttle, please contact your hotel property for details.

Am I allowed to bring a guest? Am I allowed to bring my children?

Details on plus ones and bringing little ones will be made clear on your invitation. Please refer to the number invited on your RSVP card to confirm this information, and feel free to reach out to Derek & Nicole with any questions. This is an adult wedding/reception, excluding wedding party members and family. We thank you for your understanding!

What food will be served at the reception?

The food at the reception will be served buffet style, so it is up to you what you would like to take and not take! For the main dishes, there will be chicken & beef options available. If you have any dietary restrictions in your party, there will be space to indicate this on your RSVP card. Our reception venue is happy to accommodate most any food allergy or food preference with the proper notice.

What time will your reception end? Will there be an after party?

The reception will end at 10:30pm and we are asked to be leaving the reception venue no later than 11pm. There is no scheduled after-party, but guests are welcome to travel the short distance to Downtown Traverse City via a designated driver or an Uber to enjoy some of the late night bars available. Please be mindful that hours do vary and checking to see which bars will be open late this time of year prior to the wedding night is recommended.

Where should I stay?

Check out our accommodations page on this website for up-to-date information and reach out to the couple with any specific questions. Also, please note we do not have a room block for any hotel due to a lower demand for out of town accommodations from the majority of our guests. However, please do not hesitate to reach out to the couple if you have questions or need assistance on finding proper accommodations for yourself and your party.

Where to eat or grab a drink?

Check out the If Your Interested page for a list of good eats and libations.

What will the weather be like in Suttons Bay and Traverse City this time of year?

The fall in northern Michigan is absolutely beautiful! If you have some time between the ceremony and the reception to drive around and look at the peak fall color, the bride and groom strongly suggest that you do so! While our ceremony and reception will both be taking place in indoor venues, our reception space does have access to an outdoor patio. Please pack coats, sweaters, and shawls as needed for a bit of a range of weather. Typically it could be as warm as the low 70s and as cool as the low 50s, but the bride and groom recommend that you take a look at the weather about a week prior to wedding weekend for the most accurate weather information.

What shoes should I wear?

There will not be a need for walking through grass or extensive walking in general. There is a walkway to enjoy along the marina area at the reception if you so choose. Feel free to bring your “dancing shoes” that are more comfortable for after dinner fun! This is encouraged!

Can I post wedding photos on social media?

We are so excited to have Dan Stewart & his team at Dan Stewart Photography & Videography capturing our day. This will allow us to enjoy our day and be in the moment without the worry of capturing these moments ourselves. We kindly ask that you, our guests, do the same. We ask that the ceremony especially remain an unplugged ceremony outside of Dan & his team. You are free to take whatever photos you would like at the reception and share with friends, family, and the couple directly, rather than posting excessively on social media. We thank you for your consideration and respect for our privacy.

Will the couple be doing a receiving line at the church?

We will not be doing a receiving line at the church. We will be visiting each table at the reception during/shortly after dinner time.

I have more questions about your wedding, who can I contact?

Please feel free to contact Nicole with any questions at 231-866-1302.
