Allie and Derrick both went to Morgantown High School. Although they were two years apart, they flirted off and on for years. They often ran into each other even after their time in high school.


In 2021 Allie was on a first date downtown. Derrick noticed the circumstances and of course, decided to say hi and tease her. His charm continued as he later waved at her with a big grin from across the room. Allie vividly remembers thinking to herself that she wanted to be with someone fun and outgoing like Derrick. They clearly had a lot of chemistry that only continued to grow.


A month later they ran into each other again at the gym. Derrick promises that he said hi to Allie but she claims that she did not hear him. With nothing to fear, Derrick FaceTimed Allie and invited her over for dinner. She couldn’t refuse his offer, especially once he stated that he already knew she was hungry from working out.


After that night the two were inseparable. Derrick asked her to officially be his girlfriend a few months later.


On December 9th, in 2023, Derrick took Allie on what she thought was one of their normal date days to Pittsburgh. At lunch Derrick asked Allie to call an Uber to the ice skating rink. Still, Allie didnt know what was coming and kept saying how it looked like a Hallmark movie. They hadnt even made it halfway around the grand tree in the center of the rink when Derrick asked to take pictures. He said that he wanted to get a few of just Allie and asked her to turn around. Once she turned back to face him, he was down on one knee. Jumping up and down on the ice, Allie excitedly said yes to forever. They celebrated the rest of the night and had dinner reservations at Capital Grill.
