It all began with a swipe and a shared love for The Beatles.

Jack and Destiny matched online in June 2018 and instantly bonded over their love of 60s, 70s, and 80s music. Their first date was at Coffee Cartel in Redondo Beach, where the conversation flowed just as easily as the coffee.

By July, they had made it official.

After months of commuting to see each other, they moved in together in November 2018 along with Jack’s bird, Rondo. That same year marked their first road trip to San Jose, the start of many future adventures.

Their home grew quickly. Destiny’s cats, Cosmos and Rocket, were followed by their sweet dog Cowboy in early 2020 and their cat Luna in 2021.

Over time, they discovered the joy of learning from each other. Destiny introduced Jack to the thrill of thrifting, flea markets, and hunting down the perfect vintage finds. In return, Jack taught Destiny how to upgrade her tech, boost her computer setup, and get the most out of her gadgets. Though they have different personalities, Jack is the chill, reserved introvert, while Destiny brings the energy and spark as the extrovert, they balance each other in the best ways.

Together, they navigated the pandemic, degrees, teaching credentials, and the joys (and chaos) of working from home side by side.

Music is woven into everything they do. Jack loves experimenting on drums and bass while Destiny brings the vocals, especially during karaoke nights and jam sessions at home.

They love hiking with Cowboy, listening to records, trying new recipes (Jacks the chef), and spending quiet nights creating art or playing video games.

In 2022, they explored the Pacific Northwest from the Space Needle to Pike Place to hidden cocktail spots, where they discovered a shared love for espresso martinis and deepened their love for each other.
