How long is the drive?
Drive times will vary depending on your starting point, but for most guests traveling from the Los Angeles area, the drive to the venue typically takes around 2.5-3 hours. We recommend staying overnight but it’s possible to have a round trip for the day of wedding. Keep in mind that many local attractions and accommodations in the area can be spread out, with some locations 30 to 50 minutes apart by car.
What time should guests arrive?
We recommend arriving 15–30 minutes early to allow time for parking, seating, and settling in before the ceremony begins.
How long is the wedding?
The main wedding festivities will take place from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM. For those who want to keep the party going, you're welcome to stay and dance into the night, we expect the celebration to wind down around 2:00 AM. Please note that ride services such as cabs, Lyft, or Uber are extremely limited or unavailable in the area, especially late at night. Be sure to plan ahead for safe transportation back to your accommodations.
What is the attire?
Semi-Formal. While our wedding has a 1970s-inspired theme, dressing in retro attire is completely optional (though highly encouraged if you're feeling groovy). Please note that March weather in the desert can be unpredictable, with temperatures ranging from the low 50s to mid-60s, and the possibility of wind or light rain. We recommend bringing layers to stay comfortable throughout the day. The venue has rustic and uneven terrain, so comfortable footwear is a must. Boots or sturdy shoes are highly recommended.
Where should guests park?
Parking at the venue is limited, so we kindly ask guests to carpool with friends or family whenever possible, or arrange to be dropped off by a ride service. If you’re unable to coordinate a carpool, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Destiny, Jack, or Ruby (Maid of Honor) we’re happy to help you find a solution. To ensure everyone has space, we ask that guests avoid arriving as single drivers whenever possible.
More information about additional parking options will be shared soon.
Should guests bring gifts?
We kindly ask that physical gifts not be brought to the wedding itself. Instead, we encourage guests to use our registry, which will ship items directly to our home. If you prefer to give a gift in person, you’re welcome to mail or drop it off at our home address. Cards are absolutely welcome and may be brought to the celebration or mailed. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.
Can guests bring a plus-one?
Please refer to your invitation to see if a guest was included. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to Destiny, Jack, or Ruby.
Will there be food and drinks served?
Yes! There will be a full open bar, appetizers, a catered dinner, and dessert provided for all guests. You're also welcome to bring your own beverages if you’d like something special, just please drink responsibly and be mindful of the desert setting.
Will there be vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free food options?
Yes, we will have a variety of options available to accommodate most dietary needs. Please let us know in your RSVP if you have any allergies or restrictions.
Will the ceremony be outdoors?
Yes, both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. Please dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes for uneven terrain.
Are children allowed?
We kindly ask that our celebration remain adults-only. Due to a combination of factors, especially venue capacity and safety concerns, we are unable to accommodate children. The wedding will take place on private, open desert land, which includes natural hazards such as uneven terrain, cacti, and potential wildlife like snakes and scorpions. Thank you for your understanding.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
The venue is a natural outdoor setting with some uneven terrain. While we will do our best to accommodate guests with mobility needs, please contact us in advance so we can help plan accordingly.
Can guests bring pets?
As much as we love pets, please do not bring animals. Cowboy is the only pet allowed and will be part of the ceremony and celebration.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor areas. Please be respectful of other guests and the natural environment.
Are either of you converting?
Neither of us is converting to Judaism or Catholicism, which reflect our respective religious backgrounds. While we’re not having a religious ceremony, we do plan to incorporate meaningful traditions from both faiths into the celebration. Our ceremony will be a secular one, officiated by a state-ordained celebrant, no priests or rabbis, but plenty of love and intention.
What’s with all the witchy stuff?
Neither of us is religious, but Destiny enjoys spirituality, symbolism, and a deep connection with nature — so you may notice elements throughout the celebration that reflect that, which some might call “witchy.” Rest assured, there won’t be any spells or rituals — just thoughtful details rooted in intention, much like traditional religious customs. In fact, we’ll also be including a few beautiful traditions from our backgrounds, such as prayers during dinner, a chuppah, and the breaking of the glass during the ceremony. It’s all about love, meaning, and honoring who we are.
