The summer of 2022 was a busy season; Devan and Ruby were determined to have the best summer and were looking forward to meeting new people!

One evening, Devan and his two friends were sitting at the bar making their Hinge profiles ( and getting lots of help from the servers). Ruby came across his profile and was very intrigued by him, he was cute, funny (he had a line from Seinfeld), seemed adventurous and she loved his shirt with the pink flamingos! Ruby messaged him one of her lines…. “Hey, how you doing? How was your weekend’? Devan messaged her back right away and they started talking. It then got silent…

Devan did not hear from Ruby for a whole week and thought she ghosted him so he decided to message her one last time… Ruby messaged back... she had been busy with her sisters wedding!

They started talking daily and they quickly set up a date at Party-Putt Mini Golf. A date that was meant to be two hours lasted six and after that day, they found themselves spending every weekend together and made it official a few weeks later! Within the next few months, the two knew they wanted to marry one another. The following months were spent traveling (one of their many common interests) across Ontario, Mexico, Miami, Dominican Republic and Tennessee. Devan proposed to Ruby February 27, 2023 at Canoe, a beautiful restaurant overlooking the city of Toronto and they celebrated their engagement with family and friends on April 22, 2023.
