The wedding ceremony involves a series of rituals and traditions, each with their own significance and meaning. The bride and groom typically exchange garlands, symbolizing their acceptance of each other as life partners. The couple then takes seven vows, or pheras, around a sacred fire, each vow representing a different aspect of married life. The groom also presents the bride with a mangalsutra, a sacred necklace that symbolizes their union. The ceremony concludes with the groom placing sindoor, a red powder, on the bride's forehead, symbolizing their union and the bride becoming a married woman.
