Dominic and Lorato are getting married, and we would love to have you celebrate with us!!

Our traditional wedding celebrations will all take place on Thursday, November 14th, starting at Lorato’s parents’ house in the morning and moving to Crocodile Pools Resort for the afternoon/evening. We recommend that people stay at Travelodge (located near Lorato’s parents’ house) from their arrival in Gaborone and check out on November 14th, and then move to Crocodile Pools, where our reception will take place, around noon on November 14th (Crocodile Pools is located about 15 minutes outside of Gaborone; we recommend people stay there for 1-2 nights). Please do not book your accommodation yourselves yet, as we are negotiating group pricing. A brief itinerary of the wedding celebrations is listed below, but more details on these traditions are included under “Wedding traditions in Botswana”

Wedding Itinerary

6:00-10:00am: Patlo, Bogadi, and Go Laya at Lorato’s parents house. Only family and wedding parties will be in the house during these ceremonies, but there will be singing and refreshments for everyone outside of the house starting at 8:00am.

10:00am-2:00pm: People can relax, change clothes, grab lunch, and move to Crocodile Pools for the rest of the day.

2:00pm: Lorato and Dominic will say our vows, sign the marriage instruments, and have our marriage blessed by a pastor at Crocodile Pools

4:00pm-midnight: Wedding reception and dinner at Crocodile Pools.

In addition to the wedding ceremonies, anyone who is in town on Tuesday evening can attend a meet and greet at the Travelodge bar at 8pm

Please fill out the RSVP tab at your earliest convenience! This will help us to make sure we block off enough rooms at Crocodile Pools, while allowing that conservation-oriented small business to open available rooms on Friday.

We know that many of you will be traveling from far away at considerable cost. Your presence is the best gift that we can hope to receive!
