It was a warm summer night when I first met Scott. We met on the last day of San Diego Pride at a club of all places. I went outside with my friends to get some fresh air and overheard people discussing Dungeons and Dragons. With my liquid courage, I uncharacteristically joined the conversation. One person stood out to me. I couldn't help but notice his charming smile and sparkling eyes. We exchanged greetings and started a conversation, discussing everything from how the night was going to our favorite hobbies. I felt an instant connection with him as if we had known each other for years. We continued talking as the night went on, and Scott suggested having coffee the next morning. The following day felt like a dream. He made me and my friend feel comfortable while talking to him, which made me know that I had stumbled upon someone incredible. We planned our first date shortly after that, which meant I would have to drive 10 hours north to be with him; at that time, I lived in southern California, but distance did not hinder us. After a few dates, we would plan a date to the Santa Monica beach.

We walked for what felt like hours, lost in conversation and enjoying each other's company. As we reached the end of the beach.
