In the summer of 2019, Epiphany moved to Birmingham, AL to start her first "adult job" after graduate school. Donta was already there, coaching football, working on his masters, and newly in the police academy. Like most twenty-somethings they both joined a dating app looking to meet new people. That's how it all started! The two swiped right on each other and began chatting. About a week or so later they went on their first date- breakfast at Another Broken Egg. They were instantly attracted to each other and began to spend time together. Since Donta was coaching at the time, Epiphany would go to his games and watch his team, just to spend a little time with him.

The two really liked each other but weren't quite ready to pursue a serious relationship, so after a few months, they decided to go their separate ways. While they were apart they stayed in touch sporadically, catching up from time to time, attempting to date but never quite getting it right.

It wasn't until fall of 2021 that they realized they couldn't really leave each other alone. So although he was learning how to be a father to a beautiful baby girl, the two decided to take a real shot at being a couple. Something just clicked and they realized they were meant to be!

They traveled together. Moved in together. Co-parented a baby girl together. And in June of 2023 they decided they just couldn't live without one another. So on one of their many vacation adventures, Donta proposed to Epiphany and she joyfully said “of course!” The two are happier than ever and are excited to celebrate their union with their closest friends and family....YOU!
