Tracey O'Connell - Maid of Honor
Krista and Tracey first met in Grade 7. Krista, known for her quiet and reserved nature -way back then😉 and Tracey, the bubbly one who made friends just by walking into a room. It didn’t take long for Tracey to take Krista on as a best friend and pull her out of her shell.
Over the years, they’ve shared many ups and downs, tears and moments of joy, but the greatest blessing has been Tracey’s two children, Ibrahim and Ameera, who have become like a nephew and niece to Krista. The love they share is truly something special.
Everyone knows the bond Krista and Tracey share is incredibly strong. If Krista’s on the phone, it’s almost always with Tracey, often several times a day. They still don’t quite understand how they manage to talk that much and still have so much to say for the next call, but they always manage. They have a bond that will continue to be cherished for a lifetime.
Meggie Currie - Bridesmaid
Krista and Meggie have been friends since they were just 4 years old-not to age themselves, but that’s 44 years of friendship. They first met in preschool and have been the best of friends ever since. Krista was a shy one from day one and admired Meggie for her endless love, her whitt, and her charm. Some of their sweetest memories include looking after Krista’s twin siblings, quietly grounding themselves to stay home with the babies, or taking the babies out to catch the attention of the boys- and it always worked!
Krista and Meggie are lucky to have shared the joy of working together and nurturing their deep love for helping others. Together, they have been through a lot of love, heartache, laughter, and some really fun times.
Meggie is Krista's go to in every stage of life for solicited AND some much unsolicited advice 😉 Not everyone is lucky enough to have a bond like Krista and Meggie’s, and they feel truly grateful for their lifelong friendship.
Tammy Morrison - Bridesmaid
Krista and Tammy go way back to 1994, when Meggie introduced Tammy to their tight-knit group of friends. From the very beginning, Krista and Tammy formed a ride-or-die friendship that’s only grown stronger over the years. Their story is full of moments that’ll make you laugh, smile, and even cry-but oh the laughs! They often joke about writing a book, and honestly, with everything they’ve been through, they definitely could.
The best part of their story is the love Krista shares for Tammy’s beautiful daughters, Gracie and Jaime. Whether it’s joyrides in Krista’s truck or stepping in to help the girls out of tricky situations before their mom even knew. The bond Krista shares with them is one that's truly special.
Krista and Tammy's friendship is a fierce one that shares many similarities and that's what makes it a ride or die one! They often say they will be roomies in their nursing home...that's a friendship that lasts a true lifetime.
Brett Shaw-MacDonald - Best Man
Brett is not only Doug’s son but also his right-hand man and best friend. From the moment Brett was born, Doug knew his life had changed forever, that day remains the best day of his life. Brett is the son Doug has always dreamed of, a true blessing and a gift of life that keeps on giving every single day. Their bond is something fierce.
Whether they’re playing baseball on a sunny afternoon, challenging each other in a game of tennis, taking long drives together or bantering about their favorite sports teams, the bond they have is a fierce one.
Doug and Krista are so proud of the young man Brett has become and are honored to be called his parents.
Bryce McPhee - Flower Boy
Bryce, Doug and Krista’s almost 4-year-old nephew, is seriously the smartest, funniest, and cutest little guy around. When he was just 8 months old, he started calling Uncle Doug “Yaya,” and that nickname has stuck ever since. Don't be surprised if at the end of the alter he hollers Yaya and runs to Doug!
From the day Bryce was born, they’ve shared so much love and a really special bond. The connection Doug and Krista have with Bryce is one of a kind, and watching him grow up is one of the biggest blessings in their lives.
