Will there be any organized activities outside of the wedding ceremony and reception?
In lieu of a formal rehearsal dinner, we will be hosting a casual afternoon welcome party on Friday, September 13th on the resort property (time and specific location TBA). Outside of the welcome party and the wedding itself, we want to make sure our guests have time to explore the amenities and activities at the resort and/or the surrounding area! We know that some guests may arrive later on Friday, so of course this event is optional.
Is this a kid-friendly resort/wedding?
Yes and yes! We'd love for your littles to attend. Please note that the Sandos Caracol Eco Resort has an adults only section called Select Club, but the rest of the resort is very family-friendly. There are multiple pools throughout the property, an on-site waterpark, nature tours, bike tours, kayak tours, rescued animal mini-farm, kids' club and teens' club, and more! And all of this is included in your all-inclusive fee. Adults staying in the Select Club will still have access to the rest of the resort.
Can I bring a plus one?
For the wedding ceremony and reception, we can only accommodate the individuals that were specifically named on your invitation. Of course, bring whoever you'd like to the resort, and please bring them to the welcome party if they'd like, but unfortunately we can't accommodate for more than our allotted guest numbers for the wedding itself.
What is the dress code for the wedding?
Semi-formal/cocktail beach attire includes maxi or cocktail dresses (please consider that it might be windy), jumpsuits, pant suits, short sleeve or long sleeve button-downs either with or without a jacket, khakis or chinos. Lightweight clothing material is recommended. For footwear, opt for something with a flat or nearly-flat sole for the beach. Shoes are not required for the ceremony, but are required for the reception, which will be on a wooden deck surface. If you have any further questions about wardrobe, just ask us!
What's the food and drink situation for the wedding?
Depending on how many RSVPs we have, we will either have a plated dinner or a buffet. Once we confirm our final number of guests, we will provide more information about dinner and the menu. There will be an open bar for the 3-hour reception. There will not be a cocktail hour before the reception, but fortunately, you are at an all inclusive resort where you can snack and drink to your heart's desire before mozying out to the ceremony on the beach!
Am I required to stay at the Sandos Caracol Eco Resort?
Nope! Stay wherever you'd like. However, you will be required to purchase a day pass from the hotel to attend the wedding, which is $100 USD per person. You'll get access to all of the amenities, bars, and buffet restaurants with your day pass.
Will Dre and David hate me if I decline?
We invited a relatively small group of guests and we first and foremost want you to know that you are all among a special group of people who we would love to be with us on our special day. That being said, we completely understand if you make the decision to not attend due to your budgets, schedules, or other obligations. We will take 0% offense if you can't attend. We just want you to know you're loved!
