Here are some hotel suggestions per neighborhood.

Our wedding celebration is going to be in the neighborhood of Santa Teresa - a neighborhood in the hills of Rio. We suggest staying there if your stay in the city is going to be short and you want to enjoy the most of this bohemian neighborhood!

But if you are going to stay more days and you want to experience the whole city - and do some tourism - we suggest staying in Ipanema or Leblon. These neighborhoods have better transportation and are of better access than Santa Teresa.

Ipanema is the neighborhood that Duda was raised, so we are suspicious to say that is our favorite neighborhood! It is a great place to walk around, with a lot of restaurants and stores. Leblon is very similar in style as Ipanema - with some fancier restaurants and two shoppings malls.

We also put a suggestion of a hotel in Copacabana - Copacabana Palace. That is the fanciest hotel in Rio and it is in front of the famous beach of Copacabana. That is not our favorite neighborhood because it is very touristy and you may find some touristic traps! But this is known to be the best hotel in Rio and it is very close to Ipanema and Leblon.
