Our Story

In an odd twist of events, Dylan decided to move to Kansas at the same time Spenser decided to move to Montana. Dylan was attending college at Kansas State University, and Spenser started working at a resort on Flathead Lake. That is where Spenser met Dylan's father Dave, and her brother Denim. Dylan was the pride of Dave's world and he often talked about his daughter, the wildcat cheerleader. Spenser took notice and looked forward to an opportunity to meet the infamous Dylan.

A year gone by and Spenser had a couple extra tickets to the 4th of July rodeo. He offered them up to Dave, who said while he did want them, his daughter was in town and he wanted to give them to her. He took Spenser's phone and planted her number in his contacts. That night was the first night they met, only a brief interaction of passing off some free tickets and wishing her a good evening. But he finally added a beautiful face to a mysterious name.

Dylan returned to Manhattan, Kansas for another 4 years while Spenser pursued a career in the brewing industry. It wasn't until early 2020, that they would meet again. Dylan had moved back that summer and was bartending at her family bar and grill in Swan Lake. Spenser came in by himself to grab a bite to eat, enjoy a cold beer, and possibly catch a chance to talk with the girl tending bar. That night was when they first felt the sparks fly. The bar cleared out early and Spenser asked Dylan if she would play some pool. One game turned into three and pool turned into slow dancing in the closed bar. They bonded over music, their love of nature, and stories of days gone by. By the end of the evening they had their first kiss.

This first flame only lasted about 3 weeks. While Spenser was very much enamored with Dylan, she had her reservations about the wild man that she was falling for. One evening Spenser told Dylan he had a job offer in the Bitterroot Valley but didn't want to take it because he wanted to stay in the Flathead for her. Overwhelmed by the pace things were taking, Dylan told Spenser that she did not want things to get serious and they should probably take separate paths. Spenser was pretty crushed but saved face and wished her all the best and let her go.

April 2020 came and we all know how that goes. Dylan and Spenser largely lost touch aside from chance encounters around town. They would exchange polite hellos and how have you been but both too proud to reach out and see what fuel might be left of an old flame.

Dylan was the first to reach out. She took a job delivering mail in 2022. One day while delivering a package to Spenser's neighbor, she saw his house tucked back in the woods where they used to hang out. She decided to reach out and see how he was doing. A few text back and forth and Dylan reveled her motive. "Are you seeing anyone?" Spenser's heart began to race as he answered he was not and she replied. "We should hang out again."

They went on a date later that week and since then they haven't spent more than a day or two apart. A few months later they took a road trip to the Oregon coast. Camping together in a small truck and trailer they learned how well they worked as a team with Spenser providing the safety and shelter during downpours, the camping know how, and Dylan providing her sunny outlook and willingness to help make any campsite feel like a home.

Their love has grown around a mutual love of adventure. They enjoy the rush of wild places, hunting, fishing and exploring the outdoors. But they are also building a foundation to support their love for years to come. Many nights they spend enjoying each others company in simple ways - cooking dinner together, reading a book or crafting something around the house. They have tangled their individual branches in a way that has made them inseparable.

And now we are here. We hope you can join Dylan and Spenser this coming May in West Glacier to celebrate their love in a land of wild places.
