Brothers from different mothers — that’s how Edward Chien would describe his relationship with Edward Lee. Since high school, Ed and Ed have been by each other’s side through some of life’s biggest moments. After having the honour of being Edward Lee’s best man at his wedding, Edward Chien was thrilled to ask Edward Lee to be his. Despite living in different parts of the world throughout their friendship, Edward Lee has always made a huge effort to keep in touch with his closest friends — and really, who else would call you after a night out just to tell you they love you?

Two strangers aboard the same shuttle van on their way to the University of Limerick — both having decided to study Medicine in Ireland — that’s how Edward Chien and Mike Crickmer first met. They ended up becoming roommates and the closest of friends over the four years they spent in Ireland. Mike and Ed have shared plenty of travel and hiking adventures, including the time they tried to get a fellow med school classmate out of a Croatian jail after one particularly rambunctious night out. Like fine wine, Mike Crickmer continues to age gracefully and always invites Ed on new hiking adventures with his wife, Aliya, and their adorable furry friend, Seymour.

When you want to travel, who do you call? “Mike De Paoli.” Edward Chien first met Mike De Paoli even before starting residency in Kelowna. They happened to recognize each other before an exam in Vancouver and were both thrilled to begin the next chapter of their lives back in B.C. after spending more than four years across the pond. Mike De Paoli is Ed’s go-to adventure and travel buddy. Together, they’ve eaten their way across five continents and hiked countless trails around the world. But of all their memories, nothing tops their month in South Africa — finishing an overnight hospital shift, heading straight to the airport to fly to Namibia for a five-day adventure, then flying back to Cape Town and going straight into another hospital shift.

What kind of psychopaths meet each other at work one day and instantly agree to carpool 2 hours each way to camp in the wet fall weather together?! It must not have been that terrible of an experience though because Eddie has since agreed to trips to Portugal and Italy as well as travel nursing contracts and even a Macklemore concert with Breanne! The best part of that Macklemore concert was that they drove from Kelowna to Spokane for it and while attempting to return to Canada missed the boarder crossing closure by 30minutes! Luckily after a 2 hour detour they got back into the country safely.

When Breanne returned to Kelowna in September 2023 one of the first friends she made was Vanessa! They met at work and quickly bonded over wine and being kid-free. Whether it's pilates, badminton or pottery Vanessa has always been up for an adventure! One of Breanne's favourite memories with Vanessa is staying at the Fairmont in Vancouver watching Pretty Woman and drinking ...a bit too much... champagne!

Breanne and Izzy met while working at Ottawa's QCH Emergency Department in 2021 and they quickly bonded over Breanne's concussion...in fact, up until recently Breanne was "Breanne Concussion" in Izzy's phone! From hiking Machu Picchu to surfing on the coast of Portugal Izzy has always been up for an adventure! Breanne can usually match Izzy's energy... but draws the line at eating guinea pig. One might say that it's because of Izzy booking a travel nurse contract in Kelowna that Breanne even came to Kelowna which lead to her meeting Ed!

Spencer and Breanne both grew up in Kemptville, ON but met for the first time at hair school in Ottawa. After having survived being in each others COVID bubble and a week camping around Vancouver Island together you can say Breanne and Spencer have remained friends through the best of times and the worst of times. During their years of friendship Spencer set a standard that no one in the past could meet... Until Ed came along! Ed and Breanne are so excited to have Spencer preform their ceremony on their wedding day!
