Our Wedding

Our story is kind of a long and funny one, but I will try and give you the summarized version :)Jake's best friend/roommate, and my close friend from work started scheming one night and decided to set Jake and me up on a blind date. The plan was for the four of us to go to dinner the night of Father's day a little over 3 years ago. Jake and I had only seen each other's picture, and Jake actually didn't even know my name! The Friday night before we were supposed to go on our date, I went out on the town with my roommate of the time. We ended up running into Jake, and as we walked past each other, we both turned around to do a double take. We had only seen each others photo one time, so I turned around and said, "Am I supposed to go on a date with you on Sunday?" And Jake said, "Yes! I think you are!" We laughed and couldn't believe what a small world it was. We ended up hitting it off that night, but didn't even exchange phone numbers. So, Sunday rolled around and we still went on our "blind date"... and the rest is history! I can't thank Peter &amp; Kirsten enough for introducing me to the love of my life and future husband. We are so excited to have you celebrate with us, whether in person or from afar! We recognize that some may not feel comfortable being in a group during this time, and we understand if you choose to celebrate with us in spirit, or virtually! See more details on how to celebrate with us virtually at the bottom of this page. ﻿Both our church and the reception venue have taken measures to ensure that everyone stays safe while celebrating. Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church*Each guest will be required to wear a face mask*• We will have a staged exit of the sanctuary to ensure each guest is given plenty of room to exit the sanctuary• Members of the same household will be allowed to sit together but seated 6 feet apart from other householdsThe Club* Masks are required except when seated *• All staff will be wearing masks &amp; gloves• Valet parking is unavailable at this time Our church will be livestreaming our wedding ceremony, and has set up a link for us. Instructions for the link: PLEASE NOTE, the link will not go live until 5:15 P.M. (15 minutes before our ceremony starts at 5:30 P.M.). This link takes you to the place where you can view ALL of the churches livestreams and it holds the LAST service/event they streamed. If anyone accesses this link before 5:15 P.M. the day of the wedding, they will be watching the last church sermon. If you do happen to access the link too early, you will have to refresh the page until the wedding stream becomes available.
