We met in 2007 at Silver Lake Regional Middle School and shared several classes together and could often be found completing assignments with each other and our friends. During the second half of the school year we became a couple but did not go on our first date until that summer. Susan (Elizabeth's mom) drove us to the movies where we saw the movie "Get Smart." This was while we were just 13 years old.
We remained a couple throughout our time at the middle school and high school. Joseph played soccer and Elizabeth basketball. Together we joined the Student Council and National Honor Society. In 2012 we attended our Junior Prom together and in 2013 attended Senior Prom. Later that year, June 2013, we graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School.
That fall Joseph went to the University of New Hampshire to study Chemical Engineering and Elizabeth attended Bridgewater State University studying Elementary Education and Psychology. The distance between schools was difficult but we found as much time as we could to spend weekends together and learn about each others lives while away at school. In May of 2017, after 4 years of hard work and a long distance relationship, we both graduated from college and were set to start our next journey.
In February of 2019 we moved in together and got our first apartment in Plymouth, Ma, just a short distance from the Plymouth waterfront, our favorite location for date night. In 2020 the pandemic hit and we found ourselves learning a whole new way of life and decided that it was time to take the next step in our relationship and purchase a home. After many tours and many weekends we found our home in Carver, MA and moved in in November of 2021.
We had set a great foundation for our lives together and were both working in jobs we loved. Joseph was working as an Assistant Superintendent on a golf course and Elizabeth was a teacher. We had just one more thing to do to bring our lives together.
On April 28, 2023 we went for a walk along Plymouth's jetty on the waterfront and while on the bridge Joseph got down on one knee and asked Elizabeth to marry him.
We are excited to be joining our lives in marriage and feel so fortunate to have already spent so much of our lives together. We look forward to celebrating with family and friends and embarking on our next adventure!
I love you to the moon and back!
