Vacationland - The life should be
Maine is beautiful in September!
The suggestions below are for things to do in and around Portland/ South Portland.
But don’t forget there’s a whole big, beautiful state to explore if you’ve got an inkling to do so. The coastline is gorgeous. Acadia National Park is stunning and just a 3-hour drive north. There are a multitude of hiking trails – lakes – and Mount Katahdin (Maine’s highest peak) -
and did we mention fishing? They don’t call it Vacationland for nothing.
Why not take a few extra days, or a week, and explore!!
Son of a Beach!

WILLARD BEACH is the local beach here in South Portland. You can park in the public lot at the end of Willow Street, South Portland. Grab a coffee and delicious baked
good or bagel from SCRATCH BAKING (located a block from the beach) and head down to the beach for a walk…..or hop on the greenbelt that runs along the beach and travels for miles!
CRESCENT BEACH is 5 miles south of us, in Scarborough, Maine. This is a State Park open from 9 AM until sunset daily. There will be a fee to enter.
SCARBOROUGH BEACH is 7 miles south of us in Scarborough, Maine. This is a State Park open from 9 AM – 5 PM daily. There will be a fee to enter.
HIGGINS BEACH is 5.8 miles south of us. Parking is mostly along the streets, so it can be a little tricky – but it’s a nice spot to sit and watch the surfers.
