Aaron and I chose to have our wedding at the beautiful Wakulla Springs State Park because we always enjoy coming to the spring and taking a ride down the river. The Park Rangers run boat tours every hour on the hour. The tours take you down the river to see the gorgeous scenery and wildlife. November is a great time of year to see many of the migrating birds and maybe even a manatee! The park also has beautiful walking trails, relaxing views of the Spring, and a picnic area with playgrounds for the kids.
Be sure to walk around the Lodge and read up on the unique history of this property. There is a restored soda fountain and post office. Make sure to say hi to Old Joe! In the Lobby of the Lodge are two very special features; the marble and iron staircase and the original elevator. Both are Art Deco masterpieces and the elevator is the only known surviving Art Deco elevator still in use.
Wakulla Springs State Park is open to all wedding guests all day, free of admission! If you decide to drive yourself, just let the Park Ranger know you are with the Keating Mathews Wedding when you pull up to the booth.
