It's the beginning of 2024. Elizabeth had just returned from a pilgrimage to Portugal and Spain that deeply rooted her back in her Catholic faith. She decided to focus on her relationship with Jesus, rather than "boys." The Lord blessed her so abundantly and sooner than she thought, she felt the call to try dating apps again. Elizabeth and John are part of the online generation, after all. Elizabeth was intentional for the first time ever about what she put on her profile. It was evident she was Catholic, dating to marry, was praying for a family, and would not sacrifice compromising values. All part of God's plan, John came across her profile and sent her a message. I am sure you are all wondering what the message was-- it was a question asking about her pilgrimage to Portugal and Spain. The conversations were intentional, thoughtful, and full of ease from there. John asked Elizabeth to get coffee the evening before Lent started in 2024-- February 13 2024. They spent almost three hours talking about anything and everything. They closed the coffee shop down. By that Friday, they were attending Stations of the Cross together and Mass together the next Sunday. John was always intentional about setting up the next date before the current date finished, or before that night came to a close. He always picked her up at her door, constantly had flowers for her, and wrote her letters. Elizabeth knew by March this was the man God intended for her to marry, but she allowed John to lead and stayed steadfast in prayer. John mentioned in one of his and Elizabeth's earlier dates that he believed once "I love you" was shared, it was time to move toward engagement and marriage. John was the first to say "I love you" shortly after Memorial Day weekend May 2024. Elizabeth knew engagement had to be coming soon. With their relationship rooted in faith, John proposed on August 15, 2024 on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. John's mom, her boyfriend, and Elizabeth's parents were there to celebrate with them. Elizabeth and John's relationship continues to put God at the center, and they are excited to share that with you on June 7th. When it is from God, there is nothing but peace and confidence. They are praying for you, and look forward to having you there with them to witness their declaration to each other in front of their Heavenly Father.
