Absolutely delicious poke that can be found at the end of the Spit. Johnny's paired up with Salmon Sisters to serve fresh, sushi-grade poke in excellent combinations. Lizzy absolutely loves visiting Johnny's in the summertime!

Enjoy the local nature trails around town, as well as search for unique shells and rocks at Bishop's Beach. If you're wanting more of a challenge, hike down to Diamond Creek Beach for wildlife viewing and looking for seastars.
The Wynn Nature Center is 0.25 miles from Lizzy and Will's home. Enjoy hiking through our neighborhood boreal forest looking at wildflowers and keeping an eye out for moose. There are 5 miles of trails to explore!
Getting to Kachemak Bay requires a water taxi across the bay (roughly $80 roundtrip), and we recommend Mako's Taxi. Kachemak Bay offers an abundance of trails to explore and wildlife viewing opportunities. Grewingk Glacier is an easy to moderate hike that brings you to the water's edge of Grewingk Glacier Lake, then down to Halibut Cove. If you want a challenge, conquer Grace Ridge!
The Homer Spit is a tourist hotspot but rightly so, as there are a variety of shops to visit and foods to try. You can also walk along the black sand beaches viewing the Kachemaks across the bay. The Spit is a must-do while you're in Homer - make sure to leave a dollar at the Salty Dawg!
Even though Lizzy won't be able to be MC this week at trivia, enjoy some beers at Alice's Thursday night with your team! Entry is free and the prize is a $50 gift card toward your bill. There are 7 rounds of 10 questions followed by 1 final question.
The Skilak Area is within Kenai National Wildlife Refuge north of Sterling on Hwy 1. There are a variety of trails to roam with differing levels of difficulty. Just going for a drive in this area is special, not only because of its beauty but the likelihood of you spotting a black bear or two wandering around!
Salmon fishing on the iconic Kenai River is an essential to-do when visiting the peninsula. It's highly encourage you to make time for an early morning to throw on some waders and target Alaska's finest.

Need even more of a thrill? Rent mountain bikes in Girdwood at Alyeska's Day Lodge to ride around the cute ski town or downhill at the resort. These trails are considered moderate to difficult and require downhill bikes. Definitely grab lunch at Girdwood Brewing Co. It's Will and Lizzy's favorite!
