Our dress code is semi-formal! For women, think cocktail, midi-length, or full-length dresses! Dressy pantsuits or jumpsuits are also an option. For men, think suits, dress shirts with dress pants, and loafers or dress shoes. We ask that you avoid jeans, shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, and casual sandals (dressy sandals are okay!) All wedding festivities will take place inside and the venue will have air conditioning. There will be the option of enjoying the outdoor patio later in the evening as well, so keep this in mind when deciding on dress!

With the exception of close family, we are choosing to have an adult-only wedding day. Your invitation will indicate specific names or a “plus one” when applicable. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to attend our big day and any parents will enjoy having the night off!

Your invitation will specify what time the ceremony is scheduled to begin. We kindly ask that you arrive no earlier than 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start as the bridal party will be finishing up photos and finishing touches to prepare for the best evening!

Yes! There is a parking lot right outside of the front entrance, as well as a parking garage next to this lot. Both are free and allow vehicles to be parked overnight until noon the following day if needed. **Note: The Essence encourages guests to only leave cars overnight in their surface lot (right outside the main entrance) because they don’t own the parking garage and don’t have cameras located in that area.

Yes! There will be a shuttle available for transport to and from the venue. Please refer to the “travel” section of our wedding website for specific details!

Both our ceremony and reception will take place at The Essence Event Center.
