After several months of living twenty feet from one another, they finally bumped into each other. He asked her out, she invited him to the Game Night she was throwing for all her friends, and they've been inseparable ever since!</blockquote>

The Beginning

Andrew's family was having a big 4th of July celebration in West Virginia, and although Andrew was originally thinking of proposing for their two year anniversary, he thought that this trip would be a great opportunity to catch Elizabeth off guard. With only their parents in the know, he set his plan in motion. On July 2, 2016, Andrew and Elizabeth were enjoying a quiet moment on the porch when he got down on one knee and proposed. She was totally surprised! After a quick phone call to her parents to share their exciting news, they headed to dinner with Andrew's family to surprise all of them! Celebration ensued, complete with fireworks!

Stay where the party is and take advantage of our special room block rate! Click "Visit Website" below to book online, or to book by phone call the number above and mention Smith/Matthews Wedding. Rooms must be booked no later than 6-21-2017 in order to take advantage of our event rate.

Xtreme Transportation is on-site at the Galt House Hotel and they provide airport shuttle service to and the Louisville International Airport every day of the week at regular time intervals. One way service costs $15, and can be reserved in advance by phone, email, or at the Galt House front desk.

The Riverfront Garage services the Galt House and parking can be reserved through your room reservation for $20/night and provides in and out privileges. The garage also offers short term parking with prices based on length of stay.

Louisville has plenty of transportation services depending on what you need. Uber &amp; Lyft can be used at the airport and throughout the city. Parking is plentiful downtown with a variety of garages, lots and metered street parking. Feel free to choose whatever works best for you!

Welcome to Louisville!

Louisville is known as Derby City, so if you have a chance to stop by the racetrack that made it famous, we highly recommend it! Unfortunately, there are not any races the weekend of the wedding, but that doesn't mean that you have to miss out! The Kentucky Derby Museum is a fun treat where you can explore the history of the Kentucky Derby and take a tour of Churchill Downs track and facilities!

Kentucky is bourbon country! There are nine bourbon distilleries within driving distance from downtown Louisville where you can explore the bourbon making process and have a tasting. We have been to six distilleries and are planning to complete the tour soon!

Stop by the Louisville Slugger Museum and learn everything you ever needed to know about baseball bats. And don't forget to grab that little souvenir bat from the gift shop!

Family friendly fun! The science center is just down the street from the Galt House and has tons of interactive exhibits to explore!

Kentucky Science Center

One of the performance venues for Louisville Ballet, so Elizabeth has spent many hours here! Its home to many local performing arts groups and hosts many touring shows and musicals! A great space to explore and see a show!

The Belle lives on the Ohio river, right behind the Galt House. Take a cruise or just take a peek as you stroll along the river. If you're lucky she might even be playing a tune!

Waterfront Park is a great place for an afternoon stroll! Discover statues and water features, and you can even take the Big Four Bridge across to Indiana and enjoy some great views of the river and downtown along the way.
