Explore the Historic Squares

Another gem of downtown Savannah is its 22 historic squares. They are like little parks to explore, each with unique things to enjoy. We love Chippewa Square and took our engagement pictures in Troup Square.

River Street & Plant Riverside District

This historic street along the Savannah River is a great place to visit. It has beautiful views, fun shops, a museum in the hotel, and is a great place for a stroll. At the end of the street, you can hop on a free ferry ride across the river every half-hour. Elizabeth and Micah ended their first date here.

Skidaway Island State Park

A quiet coastal escape just outside the city with scenic trails, boardwalks, and wildlife views. This spot is especially sweet because it’s where Elizabeth and Micah went on their first date.

Tybee Island

Tybee Island is only 25 minutes from Savannah, and it’s a great way to cool off and enjoy the summer weather. Elizabeth and Micah watched the sunrise at Tybee every time Micah visited during the first months of their relationship.
