Things to Do

There is so much to do in York if you're planning to spend a few days here before or after the wedding.

Unfortunately, York's best tour guide is not available as he is the Father of the Groom, so here are some suggestions from us:

Things to do

York Minster

You can pop your head inside the Minster for free but tickets are £18 for an adult. Walking the City Walls will give you a fantastic view from the outside, which we'd recommend.

Jorvik Viking Centre

A great place for adults and children to learn about York's Viking history, £16.50 for adults.

National Railway Museum

Our favourite museum in York, a must-visit for train enthusiasts and great for kids - and it's free!

York Castle Museum

Another good option, especially for kids, although a little steep at £17 per adult.

York's Chocolate Story

An interactive way to learn about the history of chocolate in York, and you get to make your own chocolate at the end.

Betty's Tea Room

The famous Yorkshire tea room, great for Afternoon Tea and a Fat Rascal.

Walking around York

York is a great place just to walk around. Highlights include the City Walls, Clifford's Tower, Rowntree's Park, Clifford's Tower and the Museum Gardens, but please ask us (or our verified tour guide) for recommendations.
