Caddo Lake State Park
Located just under 30 minutes from Marshall, Caddo Lake is one of only a handful of natural lakes in Texas. Bring a hammock and string it up or if you have more time rent a canoe or kayak and do some exploring!

Gators & Friends
Go watch as giant alligators feed, wrestle and swim! In addition to the huge reptiles, Gators and Friends also has a fully stocked petting zoo where you can walk among many animals, including a capybara (the largest rodent in the world). Gators and Friends is less than 30 minutes from Marshall.
Jefferson, Texas
Less than 30 minutes from Marshall is this cute historic town! Tour a historic home, check out the general store or an antique shop, or just grab some yummy food! There are also a ton of B&Bs in Jefferson if you want somewhere more quaint to stay.
