How do you describe your dress code?

Semi-formal means dressy. For men, wear a nice shirt and a jacket. For women, gowns to cocktail attire will do. It will be summer - which in Seattle is likely hot and dry at 5 and 6 and then cooler when the sun goes down. The Reception is inside. Remember to bring shoes to dance in. The entire floor of Great Osberg Hall is wood butcher block, so that makes for a very large dance floor.

Should I bring a gift?

We respectfully request no gifts. If we were younger, they would make a lot more sense than at our age. Your presence at our wedding - and some of you will be traveling far - is gift enough for us.

How should we get to the Wedding?

Feel free to drive. There is a parking lot at the Museum that is reserved exclusively for the wedding. Alternatively, all guests will receive a voucher with a dollar credit towards an Uber for the day of the wedding (you don't need to use it, it is just an option).

Where is Ballard?

The National Nordic Museum is in a neighborhood of Seattle called Ballard, located 6 miles and about 25 minutes from downtown Seattle. It was settled by a largely Scandanavian population, which explains the museum's location. It is now a hip neighborhood. Close to the venue are the Ballard Locks, where boats (and salmon) pass through en route from Elliott Bay (saltwater) to Salmon Bay and Lake Union (freshwater).

What drinks will be served?

We'll have non-alcoholic drinks, beer, NA beer, a couple signature cocktails, and some very good wines. We will serve wines from our cellar and will have recommendations for food and wine pairing on the tables. We'll also serve Champagne, and likely a Sauternes with dessert.

Can you handle Dietary Restrictions?

Yes. Please let us know if you are Gluten Free, Diabetic, etc and we will notify the Caterers.
