Soldotna Visitor Center (M-F 9am - 5pm) - Take a walk on the fishing boardwalk and to the Homestead Museum
Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center - Take a walk on a 3/4 mile nature trail to a viewing platform on Headquarters Lake

Rods and Reels may be borrowed from the Soldotna Office of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, if available. Check the website for contact information afgc.alaska.gov Search wefishak and find the tab for rod loaner program.

Kenai Fjords National Park
Exit Glacier Visitor Center and hiking trails. Ranger talks and walks are scheduled daily at the visitor center. Take note of the signs on the road to the center showing dates and locations of the extent of the glacier and its recession over the years

Hike the Palmer Creek trail to 2 alpine lakes. The trail is 3.1 miles (total) out and back with a 1000’ elevation gain.
Pan for gold along Resurrection Creek for 1/2 mile between the Resurrection Pass Trail and the gated area for a private claim. This is free gold panning on your own - bring your own pans.
