Is there a hotel room block we should be booking with?
Nope! The Carmel area has TONS of options. Monterey, Carmel, and Salinas all are close to each other with lots of hotels and Airbnb options. We didn't want to book just one hotel and lock people into one option because there's huge price differences depending where you book.
If you have a little more money to spare, Carmel and Monterey have wonderful hotels that are up to 15-20 mins away from the venue. If you are on a budget, no problem, look into Salinas hotels which are about 25-30 minutes from the venue.
If you know a group of people also going, look into Airbnb or Vrbo as well. This could cut down costs with a large group of people.
Will transportation be provided to and from our hotel?
Also, no. Main reason is because we don't have a room block with one or two specific hotels. Another big reason is because our venue is a little different in the fact that there is no "lights out" time. Meaning, you can stay and party with us as long as you like! We ask that you please designate a sober driver OR you can order an Uber just as easily. There is a strict rule of NO DRUNK DRIVING!
What is the dress code and is there a color I should avoid wearing?
Semi-formal, please! And yes! Our bridal party will be wearing dusty blue. So please avoid dresses and ties that are solid dusty/light blue color and white :)
Where is the venue and how does parking look?
The beautiful Holly Farm is located at 9200 Carmel Valley Road in Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA! There will be signs to point you to the correct parking areas along with Holly Farm attendants to help guide you. Parking is FREE! Woohoo!
What will the weather be like and is the venue indoor or outdoor?
There, of course, is no way to tell what the weather will be like exactly. According to Holly Farm, their weather rarely goes above 80 degrees even in August since it is close to the coast. That being said it is a little closer to the valley than the beach, so expect it to be around 75-78 degrees.
The venue is fully outdoors! Reception areas such as the dance floor have ceiling coverage (I like to describe it as the dance floor has three walls and a ceiling, but no fourth wall). The weather should be very nice, but bring a jacket just in case you tend to get colder as the sun goes down :)
Can I bring a plus one or my children?
Unfortunately, due to the strict details and headcounts that go into the catering, we will not be allowing plus ones.
Bring your party shoes, but please leave the littles at home! As our vision for our wedding is for all our guests to be able to relax and enjoy themselves to the fullest, we have decided to have a child-free event.
Please note* some of our guests have had a great idea of bringing their littles with them on the trip, but leaving them with a babysitter or grandparents at the hotel on the day of the wedding. It is completely up to you, though! Our hope is with this notice you are able to have ample time to make arrangements and attend our special day.
What dates should I book at my hotel or Airbnb so I can have the most fun and relaxing weekend?
Friday, August 9th through Sunday, August 11th. Or longer if you wish to make a mini vacay out of it and take advantage of being in the area! There are two reasons to make sure to arrive on Friday. First, we want you all to make it to our Welcome Fiesta which will be at 5pm on Friday, August 9th. It is such a good opportunity to have ample time to tour and explore the gorgeous Holly Farm along with eating yummy food and visiting with us and everyone else before the business of wedding day. Second, our wedding ceremony BEGINS at 3 pm. That is check in time for most hotels and with the time of year it will be, early check ins are too rare to risk it! We want you guys to have the best and most relaxing time possible so I highly recommend taking our advice on this one. You won't regret it!!
