When do I need to complete my RSVP?
Anytime from now! We ask that you have responded to the RSVP by the 1st March 2025. You will also be asked to return to the RSVP section at a later date to select your meal choices! If you have any questions about our wedding day please contact Emily: 07376285727 or Eoin: 07730258203
What time does the wedding start and end?
We ask that you arrive at Banchory Lodge Hotel for 1:30pm so that the ceremony can begin promptly at 2pm. Home time will be at 12:00am.
Can I use my phone to take pictures?
We are having an unplugged ceremony so would really appreciate no phones/cameras during the ceremony and also during the confetti throw! We have an amazing photographer and videographer who will be capturing these precious moments.
For the rest of the day, we strongly encourage you to take photos and videos! We will have a QR code set up which you will be able to scan and share all of your snaps with us.
What will the weather be like?
Please plan for the great Scottish summer which could be anything from glorious sunshine to needing ski boots!
We do have plans to hold the wedding ceremony outside on the lawn of Banchory Lodge Hotel alongside the River Dee so please be mindful of this when choosing your outfits.
Temperatures in Aberdeen for the month of May average around 12 degrees.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
We have plans to hold the wedding ceremony outside on the lawn of Banchory Lodge Hotel, alongside the River Dee. If the weather does not permit for this, the ceremony will be held inside the hotel. The meal, speeches and reception will be held indoors.
What is the dress code?
We will all be getting dressed up and would love for you to join us!
We have plans to hold the wedding ceremony outside on the lawn of Banchory Lodge Hotel so please bare this in mind. For anyone wearing heels, block heels over stilettos are recommended due to gravel and grass outside at the front of the hotel.
As we are holding the wedding in Scotland we would love to see some of you in Kilts too (although not required).
What are the drink driving laws in Scotland?
Please make sure that you have a designated driver or have pre-booked a taxi (to and from the venue) as the driving laws in Scotland are stricter than England (zero tolerance). Drink driving offences hold an automatic 12 month disqualification from driving and fines can be up to £5000.
Where should I park?
There is free on-site parking situated at the front of Banchory Lodge Hotel. Please note that the hotel is not exclusively ours for the wedding day so there may well be other guests using the hotel & restaurant. Any additional/over-flow parking will be indicated by signs.
Are children welcome?
Yes of course! We know how precious your little ones are and we can't wait to welcome and include them in our celebrations.
