Jonathan George Swan Moore was born in Toronto in 1992 and moved with his family to Calgary at age 13. As a young adult, he spent 5 years in Edmonton at the University of Alberta earning a degree in Biology, then changed tracks and got a certificate in Human Resources. Currently, Jon works in HR for a long-term care home called the Brenda Strafford Foundation. Jon has cultivated a healthy stable of nerdy hobbies like playing Dungeons and Dragons, 3d printing, and has an encyclopedic memory for movies. He is an avid reader and excellent cook, and delights his friends and family with his great passion and knowledge of the outdoors and the birds and bees therein.

Emily Karin Campbell-King was born in 1991 and raised in Calgary until the age of 18 when she bounced around from Canmore to South America, eventually landing in Montreal to study Journalism and Political Science at Concordia University. For the next 10 years, Emily cut her teeth in radio and television, reporting for CJAD News, City News, CNN, and CTV. Emily brought that story-telling prowess with her back to Calgary in 2021. She now shares the story of Homespace Society, an affordable housing charity, as their Director of Communications. Emily is a fearless adventurer and traveler, cares deeply about creating equitable communities, volunteers on the board of Alberta Theatre Projects, and she frequently bites off more than she can chew with home renovations.

Jon and Emily began their relationship the same way that so many epic romances have: through a dating app.

Chatting over drinks, it became apparent to Jon that Emily was like no other through her sharp wit and intensity. And it was apparent to Emily that Jon was real cute, funny, and an absolute sweetheart, and thankfully shaved off his goatee shortly after they met. From these humble beginnings, their romance has blossomed and the two have grown together and grown closer. From travelling through the medinas of Morocco and the coast of Italy, to navigating the much more difficult task of raising a puppy.
