Some love stories begin with a grand gesture, a whirlwind romance, or a moment straight out of a movie. Ours? It started in the hallways of high school—well, sort of.

I was a goofy freshman, popular among my grade but still just another kid trying to find his way. She was Emily Carey—the athletic, confident, and effortlessly cool senior girl that every freshman boy knew and admired. She had no reason to know who I was, and at the time, I never imagined our paths would cross again. But life has a funny way of bringing people together when the timing is just right.

Fast forward more than ten years. I was managing a brewery, and Emily had recently graduated from Western Michigan University, figuring out her next steps.
