Andre decided to leave New Zealand in 2018 to live in London, England. Emily also happened to travel to London, England in 2018 to study abroad. While the two were in the same city one night they ended up going to the same pub crawl. They saw each other from across the room and danced the night away. After they met, they couldn’t stay apart spending every day together. A few months later they had to go back to their respective homes in the US and NZ. They continued to visit each other and talk on the phone for hours every day. After a year of dating long distance in 2019 Emily graduated from university and decided to move to Hamilton, NZ. After 4 years of living together in NZ Emily and Andre decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada where Andre is now studying welding at CSN and Emily is working as a Coordinator at Park MGM. One weekend in January 2025 Emily and Andre decided to visit the Grand Canyon. As they were walking along the southern rim Andre suggested they walk to a secluded area by the edge of the canyon. There Andre got down on one knee and asked Emily to marry him.
