A 47-acre wildlife preserve with over two miles of hiking trails, ponds, streams, granite outcroppings and play areas. The Nature Center has comfortable indoor and outdoor space as well as an animal museum for visitors to enjoy.

A 30 minute drive from Rye, NY, The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze, at Van Cortlandt Manor offers visitors a chance to explore an 18th-century manor and discover a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns—all designed and hand-carved on site. The event runs through November, but it gets sold out quickly.

A 30 minute drive (further from NJ) from Rye, NY, The Lasdon Park and Arboretum has a Halloween Train Show and Fall Festival on weekends (and Columbus Day) through Oct. 28. Visitors can enjoy a model train display in the decorated main house, stroll through the Conservatory, meet Louie the T-Rex, enjoy Halloween Crazy Maze entertainment, music, face painting, beer tasting, meals and snacks.

Marshlands Conservancy is a 147-acre nature preserve in the city of Rye, New York, fully owned and operated by Westchester County Parks.
