It was the first day of the Spring 2022 semester at Kansas State University, we both were agricultural education majors but had not met until this point. This semester in particular we had two classes together and started sitting by each other. We got to know each other a little through these classes but nothing really happened. One night I (Emily) found a funny video about a ford ranger. Knowing Norman had a Ford Ranger I knew this was my opportunity to “slide into his dms”, so I did. I sent him the funny video with the caption “you’re welcome”. Immediately after sending I went to sleep. I woke up to the response “what” and when I opened the conversation I realized that the video never sent….. just a random dm from this girl saying you’re welcome. Embarrassing. Oh well, it worked I guess. After that we had almost every class together and spent SO much time together. Senior year came around and we were living in Pittsburg, Kansas together while we student taught. I had scheduled at trip to Manhattan for our senior pictures together. A few weeks after scheduling Norman asked if we could move the pictures to a different date because he had a “bull sale” he wanted to go to. A few minutes after he asked to move the date the photographer texted me and asked if we could move the pictures to the exact date and time as Norman said but for a different reason. Fishy right. So on April 12, 2024 on Anderson Lawn at K-State Norman got down on one knee. We now live on the farm in Atchison with our two aussies, Roland and Billie, and Poppy and Petunia the Donkeys.
