There's truly nothing better than being so close to so many incredible Smithsonian Museums - and did you know they're free?! Check out their website to see some of the museums local to DC!

Some of Emily's favorites are: The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and The Renwick Gallery. Some of Mark's favorites are: The National Air and Space Museum and the Udvar-Hazy Center (the latter being located in Dulles, VA).

I'll stop you right there - this is not a shopping mall. IT IS, however, a place filled with such incredible history and monuments. To so many, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and to Emily, it's always been her backyard! Check out the best backyard in the world and experience American history.

If you're looking to get outside and hike alongside the river we get married on (eek!), check out Great Falls Park. The park overlooks the Potomac River, so there's sights to see on the Virginia side and Maryland side as well.

The Northern Virginia wine region may not yell as loud as west coast wine does - but it cannot be missed! There are approximately 89 wineries in Northern Virginia alone, and frankly, they are unmatched! Some of Emily's favorites are Fabbioli Cellars, The Barns at Hamilton Station, The Winery at Bull Run, Quattro Goomba's, and Creek's Edge Winery. You would be silly to travel here and not try a winery (or two, or three).

Don't like wine? That's fine! (Well, that's not fine to Emily, but life will go on). There are plenty of great breweries in the area! Some of our favorites are Dirt Farm Brewing in Bluemont and Crooked Run here in Sterling.

Listen - what is the likelihood that two of our favorite shows would be playing the weekend of our wedding? The likelihood may feel low, but it truly is 100%! The National Tours of Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen are both at The Kennedy Center at this time, so if you're looking for a little musical theater - look no further.
