The venue is a large outdoor area surrounded by lakes, forests and fields. There is a large 3 tipi marquee, a smaller quiet area marquee and a large grounds to explore!
There are several routes to reach the venue by car, either via the A120, A12 or A131. Once you leave any of those roads you will then be driving along small scenic streets and tiny villages. It's a very beautiful drive!
Google maps knows the way to the venue and will point out the turning. You will see it suddenly either after leaving White Colne or after having driven some time from Wakes Colne along a tree lined road. We will try and put some signs/banners out to help you!
Marks Tey station is 15 minutes drive from the venue and is on the Greater Anglia line from Ipswich to London Liverpool Street line, allowing for easy access from London or the north (via Cambridge).
Trains to Marks Tey (at the time of writing) are running every half hour roughly on the hour. You can then either take a taxi from the station or board the scenic train above via the viaduct to Chappel and Wakes Colne down the branch line. (See the section below for taxi details).
Chappel and Wakes Colne station is 35 mins walk from the venue or a 5 min car ride. These trains run exactly on the hour once an hour, giving you about a 5 minute period to change from the Marks Tey train (if its on time).
There are no taxi ranks at either Marks Tey or at Chappel and Wakes Colne so taxis must be booked in advance. The area is very quiet and so you will not be able to find one on the day.
Greater Anglia reccomends Chappel Cars (07777 692785) for both Marks Tey and Chappel station (it is right near the Chappel station).
Google shows a number of other taxi services available in the area should they run out of cars. If you are arriving alone or by 2, feel free to let us know as we may be able to group you up with other guests to share a car.
