Our Wedding

The Beginning Colin and Emily met their Junior year in high school when they were assigned to sit next to each other as "elbow partners" in pre-calculus. They immediately had a connection that would lead to several years of friendship. Their senior year, Emily decided to let Colin know that he was asking her to homecoming. He wrote "Homecoming?" on a white board, she took a picture and posted it online, and their first date was etched in history. Colin went all out and got Emily arguably the biggest mum in Katy High School History, a kind gesture that would soon be outdone by him leaving the dance early to get Whataburger with the boys.&nbsp; Friendship Continued After graduating High School, they both left for College Station. For the most part, they went their own directions to figure out who they were. Emily found community in Impact Retreat, her church and her roommates. Colin spent the majority of his time in college leading Young Life. There were a few times where they would periodically catch up.... Colin would go find time to study with Emily, Emily would call Colin when she had car troubles. The thought was always in the back of both of their minds, but a date never came about. It would turn out that the Lord would have better timing in mind than they would.&nbsp; Friendship Evolved Colin got his degree and promptly went to work in Houston. He rented a house back in Katy. Emily was finishing up her student teaching in Katy as well. One night, Colin reached out to Emily and invited her over for BBQ and games with his friends. He thought he was being normal, but apparently he was quite literally attached at the hip to her. Shortly after, they saw each other at a fundraiser and fully caught up on life and what the future looked like for each other. Something started to stir inside both of them that evening. Later that week, Colin asked Emily to come dancing with him and his church group and she happily obliged. The night went great, but there wasn't much clarity on either end. Colin took a couple days, but soon asked Emily to go drive around with him. That night, for the first time out of all the times, he was clear that he had feelings for Emily and wanted to pursue her if she would let him. Fortunately for him, she said yes! Dating The two officially became a couple in December 2020. After being friends for seven years, dating came pretty easy. Not easy as in always seeing things the same way, but easy in talking about the relationship and being honest with what each other were looking for in their future spouses.&nbsp;It soon became clear to both of them that they wanted to spend forever together. Things got a little less convenient as Emily started teaching full time and Colin moved into his new home an hour away in Pearland. They were somehow closer, yet further than they had ever been. The dating relationship consumed most weekends and a weekly date night meeting somewhere in the middle. During this chapter, they began to explore the idea of marriage more and more. Emily had a specific timeline in her head of when they would move their relationship forward. Colin's was a little bit shorter.&nbsp; He Asked (She said Yes) On August 5th, 2021, a night when Emily thought they were just going to a work dinner to celebrate a record month at his job, Colin completely surprised Emily when he asked her to spend the rest of her life with him! We are overjoyed in this season of engagement and are so thankful for the love and support that has been poured out on us from our family and friends. As great as this time is, we are even more thrilled to begin the rest of our lives together as Husband and Wife!#YouHadMeAtHenry

Daulton and I met as camp counselors right after I graduated high school. From then on we spent nearly every day together until I got to stand by his side on his wedding day. He is quietly bold, loyal, forgiving, and will choose to tell me what I need to hear rather than what I want to hear. I look up to him more than he knows.

The sister I get mistaken for often! Katie is driven and tough as nails & she makes me want to be better in many areas of my life! She’s also pretty funny but don’t tell her. Thankful that she also is my sister & my best friend!

Taylor and I grew up across the street from each other. We’ve walked through all of the highs and lows together. He is the hardest working and most generous man I know. When people say, “You are who your friends are”, I count myself lucky to be like him.

The neighbor child who turned into my 3rd older sister! Mal is genuine & kind in all that she does and I’m thankful to know her and have her in my corner.

My friendship with Hank started the day we were placed on a Young Life team together. Hank is humble. His desire to know God and His Word is inspiring. He is the greatest accountability partner and is quick to listen. Look for him stomping on the dance floor when Katy Perry is playing.

My West Texas queen! No one in the world can make me laugh as hard as Taylor can! She has kept me in check since our first college class together & she is just a really good friend. I know she’s always gonna show up for me!

Buzz was a late addition to the 803 Glade Street palace. I was scared to live with him, but it turned out to be the greatest surprise of my time at A&M. We spent every day together Grocery Shopping, BBQing, and playing dominoes that last year of college. He loves his friends big, is always up for an adventure, and will make some girl pretty dang lucky one day.

My Meggy! Going into college I prayed for real and honest friendships, and then the Lord brought me Meg. My very first friend I met in college who has remained one of my truest friends in life. She is a constant source of truth & encouragement and I’m better for knowing her!

Rolland is loud, charismatic and full of ideas. We work closely together in the professional world and currently live under the same roof. I wish I had his ability to always believe the good things, ignore the bad things, and live off of popcorn for dinner.

From junior high cheer tryouts, to President & Vice President of our high school class, to college roommates! Emma has been there through every. single. season. of my life & I count myself so lucky because of it. I can’t imagine this one without her there with me.

Brett is the glue in a friend group. He's the first person to call you up and see how life is going. In college, he always pushed me to set and achieve my goals. If you enjoy watching a good debate, put us in a room together. We also were co-parents to a pet pig named Peaches.

Faith holds me accountable in all facets of my life and is one of the kindest people I know & for that I’m so thankful! We spend most of our time together at the gym or having wine + Crumbl nights! So thankful for the friend she is to me!

Kya is empathetic, the best listener, and someone I know I can always count on! She challenges me and makes me a better friend. We truly couldn’t be more different, but I think that’s my favorite thing about our friendship!

Tate and I somehow never got to be roommates, however, we still talk every day to make sure we are caught up on all things Fightin' Texas Aggie Football. He's an easy-going guy and it's a blessing having him in community here in Houston.
