Alexander grew up in Hooks, Texas with his parents and four siblings: James, Andrew, Joseph, and Anna. He was homeschooled by his mother until high school, which he attended at Texas High School in Texarkana, Texas. Following graduation, he went off to The University of Alabama on a full scholarship to study Finance.

Emily grew up in South Plainfield, New Jersey with her mom and sister, Kristina. She attended elementary through high school in the South Plainfield School District. Following graduation, she went off to The University of Alabama to study Political Science, Psychology, and Cyber Criminology.

Emily & Alexander met in college through mutual friends. They got to know each other on a friendship-level from group hang-outs, prior to exploring a romantic connection.

The school announced that it would be closing early, due to COVID-19, and all students had to evacuate campus. On top of that, they both had plans to graduate a year early in 2020, rather than with their original class in 2021. On that last night, the two were at a local bar with friends. Alexander bought Emily a final drink of the night, shook her hand and said,"Well, it was nice knowing you, but I'll probably never see you again." Little did they know at the time...

Somewhere around this time, Alexander went back to Alabama to finish packing up his college apartment. In an attempt to catch up with Emily, he sent her a text to come hang out with him and some friends - or so he tried... In Alexander-fashion, he texted the wrong "Emily" contact in his phone and they never actually caught up.

Eventually, Alexander started playing his cards right, and the two started talking a lot more, getting to know each other on a deeper level. With Alexander living back in Hooks and Emily still in Tuscaloosa, they started making 7-hour, car-ride trips to see each other at least once a month.

After growing up halfway across the country from each other and a series of near-misses, Alexander officially asked Emily to be his girlfriend sometime around his visit to Tuscaloosa for Halloween.

Alexander moved to Fort Worth, Texas to work for Fidelity. Emily was still living in Alabama, and the two continued to date long-distance.

Emily moved to Forth Worth and the distance got a little shorter!

While visiting Emily's family in New Jersey, Alexander popped the big question at Washington Rock, overlooking the New York Skyline.

Newly engaged, the two decided to pack up their life in Fort Worth and move to Alexander's hometown.
