This is the most direct route from Pagosa to Denver. If time allows, we recommend stopping in Salida or Buena Vista. Our favorite quick stops are San Juan Mountain Roasters in Del Norte for coffee and Sweeties in Salida for deli sandwiches.

If you are traveling to or from Denver-Pagosa, this is a recommended road trip route with the least "out of the way" stops while hitting some of the most beautiful Colorado Mountain towns, including Vail and Breck. Vail and Breckenridge are beautiful but are much more "built up" and crowded compared to the other mountain towns south of Summit County.

If you are traveling from Denver-Pagosa, this is a recommended road trip route with some super epic stops, including Telluride and Crested Butte. Both Telluride and Crested Butte are gorgeous small towns tucked at the base of some of the most beautiful mountains in the state. We highly recommend making these stops if you have the time!
