Q + A

Why are you getting married in Montana?

A few reasons! It's an extremely beautiful and unique landscape. For Em, this is one of the first national parks she visited as a kid and it played a huge part in feeding her life-long wanderlust. Also, we wanted to give everyone a good excuse to go on an adventure!

Where should I stay?

Please check out the Lodging tab at the top of this page!

What's the best way to get there?

Please check out the Getting There tab at the top of the page.

What do I need to know about the park?

Glacier National Park (GNP) is full of beautiful, mountainous terrain carved out by glaciers. It has over 700 miles of hiking trails, loads of wild life, and gorgeous snow-fed rivers and lakes. You can drive the Going to the Sun Road, which climbs up and over the Continental Divide, but please make sure to sign up for a vehicle permit. More information about the park, permits, and things to do can be found on the Glacier NP tab above.

What should I NOT bring to the wedding day?

Please don't wear perfume or cologne on our wedding day. The bride and a few others are sensitive to those kinds of scents as migraine triggers, and we don't want to catch the nose of any bears! ;)

Can I bring my dog/pet?

If you are planning to stay with us at Glacier Homestead, please leave your pet at home.

Can I smoke/vape on at Glacier Homestead?

Wildfires are prevalent in Montana, and Glacier Homestead specifically states that no smoking is allowed at the ranch. Please do not smoke anywhere on site at Glacier Homestead, and limit any use of vapes to outside of the buildings and reception tent.

Do I get a plus one?

Your Save the Date and RSVP online should say "and guest" or a specific person's name if we are able to offer you a plus one. We recognize that over the long timespan between now and June 2025 relationship statuses can change though, so please reach out to us if you're hoping to bring someone special along and we'd be happy to chat about it!

Do you have a registry?

Nope! It is more than enough for you to travel out to the middle of nowhere to join us on our wedding day, and frankly we have more than enough things at home as is. We'll have a guest book and a place for cards at the reception if you'd like to write us a note though!

Do I need to worry about bears?

As long as you are aware and appropriately cautious, don't worry! Grizzly bears and black bears do live in this part of Montana, but you're not likely to run into one. We’ll also provide bear spray for hiking in the park (you can’t fly with it). Check out this link to learn about bear safety from the best:
