We met when we started medical school in 2018 at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas. We hit it off immediately and quickly became best friends!

Spending over a year studying late into the night, going to conferences, and figuring out how to entertain ourselves in West Texas grew our friendship into something more. We made it official in early 2019 and have been together ever since!

We spent the next 2 years exploring...

Skiing...

And collecting animals (pictured here with our COVID foster, Ollie).

In May 2020, our family grew by two with the addition of our sweet boys, Finn and Remy.

After 4 years of hard work, we found out that we matched into our first choice of residency programs in Boston!

In May 2021, we graduated medical school and became Dr. Bramnik and Dr. Marbas (finally!).

A few days after graduation, we hit the road on a 4-day cross country move to Boston!

We quickly fell in love with the city and have truly made it our home. We love going for walks along the Charles river, exploring new restaurants, and going to Red Sox games!

The following summer, Emily popped the question while visiting Avery's family in Dallas. We were so excited to start this new chapter together!

A few months later, Avery returned the question on a romantic trip to Vermont! We consider ourselves to be incredibly lucky to have had 2 beautiful engagements!

We have spent the last 2 years enjoying a nice, long engagement while we finished up residency, spending as much of our little free time we had together!

Emily completed her medical training in June 2024, and Avery will be finishing in June 2025. We are thrilled to finally be starting our careers as independently practicing physicians!

Almost 10 years after we first met, we are so excited to be celebrating our marriage with all of our favorite people on the beautiful beaches of Puerto Vallarta!
