Friends and family,

We hope this finds you doing well and staying safe. As we are now under 2 months until our scheduled September 12 date, we wanted to provide you with a final update on our plans. Given the continued uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and our ability to safely host people from across the country, we have made the tough decision to cancel our planned reception in September.

This comes after having numerous conversations with Double Eagle in June Lake and working through the logistics of hosting a socially-distanced party in our backyard here in Reno. Both California and Nevada have seen major increases in Covid-19 cases in the past few weeks, and both states have limited the number of guests allowed at gatherings. Even without these mandated restrictions, we wouldn’t feel right endangering so many of our loved ones by asking those in other communities to risk flights or long drives.

While we can’t make any definitive future plans, we do hope to celebrate with each of you when it is safer to travel and congregate. We’ve thought about a party here in Reno to celebrate our one-year anniversary next June, or hosting localized parties in various locations like Reno, Santa Barbara, South Carolina, etc. We’ll be in touch with each of you individually as we get closer to a future when it’s actually possible to make plans!Thank you all so much for your understanding throughout this whole process. If you have already booked flights, hotel rooms, etc., please feel free to cancel them. If you booked at the Double Eagle and mentioned our wedding block, they will go ahead and cancel your rooms for you free of charge.

Know that we love you all, and we can’t wait for the opportunity when we are able to get together and celebrate.
