Bryant and Emily met on a blind-date. In January 2023, he asked his co-worker if he knew anyone, and his co-worker was Emily's co-worker's husband. Emily's co-worker mentioned Emily, since she was the only 20's-year-old in the office. Emily's co-worker pushed Emily to let Bryant have her number and set something up. It took a couple days of convincing since Emily isn't a very outgoing person, especially with dates. After giving her number and a couple days of texting, Emily and Bryant finally met on a date to Texas Roadhouse.

Bryant picked Emily up at her house and tried to be polite and open his truck door for her, but his door was locked. They were both super nervous, so this was a something funny to loosen the nerves. They walked around Bass Pro Shop for a few minutes to pass the time for their reservation, so Emily took the time to show her goofy personality. She told Bryant to come close by the dressing room, then pushed the button for the attendant. If you've ever been to Bass Pro before, you would know that the attendant button isn't a normal sound. Instead, it's an obnoxiously loud, quacking duck. Emily started laughing and ran away, but Bryant was so shocked he couldn't run fast enough and apologized to the attendant that was coming. They both had a good little laugh before heading to dinner. Once at Texas Roadhouse, Bryant and Emily's conversation flowed effortlessly, and they learned they had a lot in common. Emily knew something was different since she had never been able to talk to people very smoothly, especially a stranger.

At the end of the evening, Bryant took Emily back home, they hugged, and he left. When he got in his truck to drive back to his apartment, he called his parents and told them how the date went. He said it was one of the best nights he'd ever had, and that he's going to marry this girl. His parents laughed and said, "okayyyy", trying to appease his new excitement after a successful date night.

Bryant and Emily saw each other almost every day since that first date. Then five months later, on July 4th, 2023, Bryant and his family took Emily out to a lake in Illinois to go jetskiing and boating. Emily thought this was just a fun, 4th of July celebration. They all drove to a beautiful rock formation by the lake and while Emily was taking in the view, Bryant started talking to her. He was saying some very sweet things, but Emily wasn't really picking up on what was going on. Bryant then set his knee on the jetski seat, and asked Emily to marry him. She was in awe and naturally said yes.

After the lake, Bryant and Emily posed for proposal photos with the actual ring (Bryant proposed with a silicone ring at the lake, no worries!). Later that weekend, Bryant, Emily, and Bryant's family went camping and celebrated Emily's birthday that was a few days later. It was the best 4th of July and birthday Emily could ever have!

Bryant and Emily are very excited to continue their lives together as one. They have both felt since the first day they met, that this was meant to be and that God brought them together. This wedding day can't come soon enough!
