Emily and Oliver were born with an ocean between them. 3983 miles separated them. As they both got older, they got much closer. They grew up just 59 miles apart, and there is a non-zero** chance that Oliver kicked one of Emily's classmates in a high school soccer match. Though they were drawn together for a time, they briefly separated as they attended different colleges, with Emily taking several adventurous internships out west for a time afterwards.

At some point, they both got the ludicrous idea to go to graduate school, and ended up both living in Indiana.

Shortly after the start of the academic year, Emily and Oliver met online, at had their first date at an Irish Brew Pub. Emily wore fossil earrings, Oliver ordered fish n' chips. Fast forward a few weeks/dates and they were both surprised to learn that they had, by some twist of fate/statistics/incredible fortune, ended up living just 88 yards apart. A short walk across the apartment complex meant that it was easy to swing by in order to hang out and play with Kira (and later, Angus).

It wasn't long before they became each other's best friend and favorite person.

After graduate school, internship took Emily out to Idaho for a spell, while Oliver finished up his time in Indiana during the height of Covid-19, leaving them both missing the other's support. Then, it was back to Wisconsin, with Oliver's internship placement fortuitously putting them in a position to get closer to home, and to family.

Nowadays, they can generally be found playing with the pets, rolling dice for adventures in a fantasy game world, cheering on Forward Madison, traveling to fun new places, eating good food, laughing at good jokes (and laughing harder at bad ones), and otherwise loving being a part of each other's lives.
